Basic Steps to Optimizing your Website

Here are some basic steps you can take to optimize your Websites' content. We address these basic issues as a first step:

Title: This is the most important place for your keyword phrases. It is easier to place a single keyword phrase within the title. Put a non-keyword first, then your phrase, and repeat one of the keywords once. For example, Lowell photography club, would be Creative Lowell photography club, located in historical downtown Lowell.

Meta tags: Google no longer uses meta words, as there is too much abuse.

Text Content: Repeat your keywords about 15% in the beginning; down to 5 percent at the end, and have your keyword phrase in the last sentence of your content.

Header: Use header tags for your heading and place your keywords with the heading.

Bold: Your keyword phrases should be bolded first.

Images: Have at least one graphic image for each keyword phrase. Put your keyword phrase for the alternate text.

Links: Include at least one link that has your keyword phrase and pointed to their home page. This link should be within the body of your text.
